Job Description

This posting will be used to fill multiple vacancies. Please note that we may also consider candidates for additional Entergy locations, depending on the requirements and availability.
Job Summary/Purpose
- Provides direct oversight, coaching and support to Project Controls Specialist throughout the project lifecycle.
- Integrates with and supports Project Management team as needed to ensure successful execution of assigned projects.
- Ensures comprehensive project cost, schedule, scope, and risk controls are implemented on Entergy projects and helps ensure projects have reliable cost and schedule estimates and achieve business goals on time and to budget.
- Ensures contract agreements reflect project controls requirements and that contractors implement controls in line with those requirements where they are utilized for elements of the project.
- Supports project reporting and regulatory reporting as required.
- Promotes safe behavior and adherence to the safety rules on the project.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Implements all Project Management Standards in cost, schedule, scope, WBS, and risk and issues management for assigned projects.
- Assists in the performance of analysis, optimization, and reporting on Entergy project portfolio including assessments of risk associated with completing planned scopes of work according to multi-year budget plans.
- Works with Cost Analysts assigned to projects to prepare and maintain the required cost reports and forecasts.
- Performs schedule analytics to determine the quality of the schedule and to perform progress assessments.
- Monitors and reports on compliance with schedule related contractual requirements by contractors.
- Validates the Estimate to Completion and Estimate at Completion forecast.
- Prepares contingency analysis and report on contingency status.
- Collaborates with the project manager and other project team members to identify, characterizes and documents project risks in a risk register and develops mitigation plans.
- Works with the project manager and other project team members to manage the Change Management process and document clearly throughout the project lifecycle; documents and tracks approved project changes.
- Provides guidance in the various disciplines of project management and control by applying fundamental schedule and cost control techniques.
- Support in the development and maintenance of project schedules, plans, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Identify, analyze and document project schedule and cost variances between planned and earned/actual progress and conclude on possible impacts.
- Provide analysis of contractor schedule data to identify key project issues, verify contractor progress, and review their performance trends.
- Takes direction and provides support from project leadership to ensure quality cost, schedule, risk management, change management, contract management and reporting.
- Work is performed in both an office setting and in field conditions.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management (or related field) OR equivalent/related work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
- 6 years minimum capital project management and/or project control experience. Utility capital project experience preferred.
- Desired: 10 years of experience in capital project management and/or project controls on large scale capital projects.
- Desired: Experience of project controls implemented on projects executed under various types of contract agreements including EPC. Both contractor and owner construction project controls experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Superior knowledge of the fundamentals of scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
- Superior knowledge of scheduling software packages and related analytics.
- Superior skills with spreadsheet based analytics.
- Knowledge of project and construction management fundamentals.
- Oracle Primavera P6
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
- Preferred: Certifications from PMI and/or AACEi
