Job Description
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be able to assume responsibility for operation of the equipment included in a central controlled turbo-generator-boiler system with its associated fuel handling facilities, auxiliaries and function during a specific shift, and be qualified to do the following related work as assigned:
- Service, or remove from service and operate turbo generator and boiler systems.
- Check function of governors and controls, and related auxiliary equipment.
- Perform simple operations in connection with general test work on boilers.
- Check bearing temperatures and turbines, pumps and other related equipment for proper operation using some precision hand, bench and power tools.
- Under close and/or directive supervision, with limited latitude for planning or laying out of working details, must be able to perform:
- Simple mechanical work involved in the inspection, repair, installation, test, adjustment and calibration of meters and instruments, and of automatic combustion control equipment and regulating devices in generating stations.
- Simple electrical work involved in the inspection, repair or installation of electrical equipment in generating stations and electrical substations and related equipment in shop or in place.
- Simple mechanical work involved in the inspection repair and installation of mechanical equipment.
