PMO Department Overview:

The Engineering PMO Department provides the structure and oversight that support Ampirical’s engineering teams in delivering high-quality power delivery projects. The department manages scope, schedule, budget, and risk while ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and industry standards. Serving as a central hub for coordination, communication, and project controls, the PMO drives consistency, accountability, and smooth execution across all engineering projects.

Your Role: Project Manager III

Ampirical is seeking a Project Manager III to lead complex, multi-discipline engineering projects supporting power delivery systems across the U.S. This senior-level PM role provides full lifecycle leadership - scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and client relationship management.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage contracts and project scopes ranging from \$1M–\$5M+, ensuring all technical deliverables meet client and regulatory standards.
  • Develop budgets, milestone schedules, resource plans, and monthly status reports for clients and subconsultants.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, anticipate risks, negotiate solutions, and support long-term client relationships.
  • Oversee QA/QC, safety compliance, and adherence to codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
  • Guide field coordination, site visits, commissioning activities, and construction support documentation.
  • Mentor engineering teams, contribute to process standardization, and support cross-department alignment.
  • Lead onboarding, training initiatives, and knowledge transfer across the PMO.
What You Bring
  • 10+ years of project management experience in utilities engineering or very similar technical fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar field required
  • PE license and/or PMP certification strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, contract management knowledge, and experience with complex multi-discipline projects
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills
