Education Required - High School diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience Required - Experience functioning calmly in a pressure situation and experience working with little supervision. Preferred - 6 months patient care experience, operating room experience.

Certifications Required - Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Job Duties

• Performs indirect patient care duties.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment in patient care and support surgical areas.
• Performs direct patient care duties.
• Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
• Adapts to rapid day-to-day changes in the department / unit.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.
