Interim Executive Director (Part-time/Contract)

Organization: Louvis Services – Nonprofit Permanent Supportive Housing Developer

Location: New Orleans, LA – Remote (with access to Propeller community workspace and

meeting rooms)

Reports to: Board of Directors

Term: 10-12 months (renewable; option to convert to permanent Executive Director)


About Louvis Services

Louvis Services is a volunteer-led nonprofit creating innovative housing solutions for people

experiencing homelessness in New Orleans. Our vision is to increase affordable housing

opportunities in the Lower Ninth ward neighborhood. We develop affordable tiny-home

duplexes and partner with service providers, universities, and community organizations to

deliver homes and lasting stability.


The Opportunity

As part of a planned leadership transition, Louvis Services seeks an Interim Executive Director

to lead operations, strengthen systems, and advance our housing and funding initiatives. This is

a hands-on, collaborative role reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with the

founding Executive Director during a structured onboarding period.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Development:

• Refine priorities of Louvis Services 2024–2027 Strategic Plan and implement

• Engage, support, and develop board relations.

• Budget management and reporting

Real Estate Management and Operations:

• Oversee project development and ensure long-term asset performance.

• Coordinates property management and operations with nonprofit service providers to

ensure residents receive consistent supportive services.

Communications & Partnerships:

• Active stakeholder engagement and organizational partnership building.

• Lead grant strategy, grow donor programs, and fundraising

• Development of strengthen digital presence from newsletters, website content, and

materials for grants and other communications, as required.


Qualifications

Required:

• (5+) of nonprofit management, affordable housing, or community development

experience

• Proven leadership, fundraising, and grant-writing track record

• Experience in property/asset management and service coordination

• Ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including people with lived experience of

homelessness

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Permanent Supportive Housing models

• Experience with small-scale development finance and university/community

partnerships

• Strong communication, public speaking, and media engagement skills

Louvis Service is a small and emerging organization and as we are growing our team

understands our capacities and well-being is a priority. Part of that is offering the following

opportunities:

• Part-time contract up to $50,000 commensurate with experience

• 10 -12 month term

• Flexible work schedule

• Growth potential to transition to a full-time Executive Director role.

• Remote (May work from home or Propeller’s community workspace with access to

meeting rooms, office equipment, and event space.)
