*Education* Required - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), business, or related field. Preferred – Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
*Work Experience* Required -
- 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering or equivalent role with experience in DevOps capabilities (version control, automated builds, and release management tools using Azure Devops, Git, Jenkins, etc.). Of the required experience, the following should also be met:
- 3 years of experience in SQL development.
- 3 years of direct experience working with various relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL server, Oracle Exadata, Teradata etc.) Demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Cloud computing (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Building and orchestrating data pipelines and models using DBT/Airflow and/or Azure Data Factory (ADF) on Snowflake.
- Programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, PySpark, Scala).
- Agile Development experience Preferred
- Experience with Dimension modelling and ETL design
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning of SQL code and data pipelines
- Experience in cloud-based lake houses such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Athena etc.
- Experience with on-prem and relational database platforms like Oracle, SQL Server, and integration of Azure/Snowflake services with on-premises and other cloud technologies like AWS, GCP etc.
- Experience in leveraging Observability tools such as Splunk/Datadog or equivalent.
- Experience with FinOps and optimizing Snowflake compute
- Experience with acquisition and integration of semi-structured and unstructured datasets e.g. JSON, Parquet, HL7, FHIR messages, audio files, transcripts etc.
- Healthcare domain knowledge

- Ability to develop, deploy, and maintain batch scripts and processes.
- Ability to transform raw data into usable, accurate and scalable data sets.
- Ability to see improvement opportunities and act on them.
- Knowledge of business intelligence concepts and ability to collaborate with end users to define data requirements.
- Advanced SQL skills and ability to quickly learn other scripting languages depending on team’s needs.
- Knowledge of existing and emerging hardware and software technologies and an aptitude for learning new technical skills quickly.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while delivering outstanding customer-focused solutions.
- Ability to think outside the box when designing new approaches and solutions.
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling, ETL processes, and tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Excellent problem-solving, organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple demands in a rapidly changing, team-based environment.
*Job Duties*
- Works with functional departments to understand their priorities and requirements and translates them to develop and implement data solutions, to assist with their objectives.
- Provides expertise in all facets of logical modeling and presentation solutions including prototyping and proof of concept, using best practices within the business intelligence and data management environments.
- Maintains and develops documentation to identify and define processes or procedures.
- Owns and supports data pipelines that power the organizations analytical and operational needs. Provides insights, monitors applications, handles user tickets, and analyzes and resolves data issues.

- Applies data expertise to help architect, build, and launch scalable data pipelines to support the organization’s growing data processing and analytics needs.
- Provides production support to resolve critical data pipeline and application issues, mitigating or minimizing any impact on data products and downstream analytics tools.
- Manages data by following enterprise and industry best practices.
- Supports and monitors data management and/or business intelligence systems and processes.
- May assist with administering business intelligence server(s) and/or processes.
- Serves as a technical resource and support to multiple teams.
