Job Description

Project Engineer
Summary The Project Engineer assists the Project Management staff in technical day-to-day operations for his/her assigned construction project(s). This position is responsible for assisting in all project administrative functions which include contract administration, procurement, document management, financial and risk management, scheduling and quality control as necessary to support field operations from start-up to completion/closeout. The Project Engineer reports to the Project Manager to whom he/she is currently assigned and has no direct reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum or equivalent work experience
- 1+ years of professional experience in project management, field supervision, or estimating/pre-construction roles for a commercial general contractor or subcontractor
- Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, and estimating for construction trades (all disciplines)
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, project management, estimating, and scheduling software programs.
- Solid skills in the areas of math, budgeting, financial analysis, as well as excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements The physical demands of this position must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for an extended period of time and frequently stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel: and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move office equipment up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include viewing computer monitors. Some duties in this position are performed under periodically disagreeable working conditions of a jobsite including: working outside, at times in inclement weather; and exposure to water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, and equipment noise and vibration.
