Under general supervision the Power Line Technician II will assist in safely constructing, operating, inspecting and maintaining Cleco’s distribution system, equipment and facilities in accordance with distribution operations practices and service restoration all while maintaining customer satisfaction. Cleco’s Power Line Technician II are expected to learn industry and Cleco standard work practices from senior staff as well as through on the job and formal Cleco training.

• Assists in the restoration, construction and maintenance of Cleco’s overhead and underground distribution systems safely, efficiently and in a timely manner, producing positive customer satisfaction and reducing SAIDI/SAIFI.
• Performs troubleshooting, requesting assistance only when necessary, switching operations and service restoration to minimize CHO.
• Performs inspections and maintains distribution / transmission line and substation equipment.
• Completion of job assignments in accordance with established Cleco policies, procedures and standards.
• Incorporate Human Performance (TOPI) in daily, work routine.
• Good attendance record, including on time for regular work and scheduled overtime.
• Available for callout/emergencies. Based upon current/forecasted weather conditions, responds when called or calls in/comes in to offer help.
• Willing to occasionally work away from normal work location for mutual assistance within Cleco and other electric utilities.
• Honestly and effectively communicates with managers, supervisors, leads, employees and customers, maintaining positive behavior.
• Promotes teamwork, supporting company initiatives and providing good customer satisfaction.
• Follows instructions and directions from Leads, Supervisors and Managers.
