Education

Required - Bachelor’s degree OR licensure OR certification listed in the preferred certifications section below Preferred - None

Work Experience

Required - 3 years’ experience with direct patient contact

Certifications

Required - Certification as Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) by nationally recognized entity * If CTTS is not currently held, training must be completed within 60 days of hire and CTTS certificate obtained within 1 year of employment Preferred - If education requirement above is not met then it can be substituted by an RN, LSW, RT or other clinical licensure

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Skills to communicate clearly.
  • Knowledge of brief therapy techniques and group education.
  • Reliable transportation as travel throughout the system is required.
  • Ability to work outside of normal work hours, to include evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).
Job Duties
  • Develops and implements Tobacco Cessation Program including Intake and Group Therapy utilizing Best Practices.
  • Performs clinical functions.
  • Measures and reports program outcomes/impact; may create, implement, and revise as needed a monthly reporting system.
  • Assumes responsibility for program development and marketing.
  • Performs administrative functions.
  • Develops knowledge of community resources.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
