Job Description
Title: Senior Advisor, Trepwise LLC
Submission Deadline: 5:00PM CST, Tuesday, December 16, 2025
ABOUT TREPWISE
Trepwise is a strategy consulting firm dedicated to unlocking the potential of purpose-driven organizations by aligning people, process, and vision. We partner with clients to strengthen their organizations, engage stakeholders, and move complex work forward through strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, collective impact, and human-centered facilitation. Our approach centers empathy, simplifies complexity, and creates clear pathways for action.
Founded in New Orleans and operating nationally, we design processes that are inclusive, collaborative, and energizing. With a portfolio of hundreds of clients across sectors and geographies, we believe that thriving and equitable communities are nourished by good ideas. At Trepwise, we exist to get people moving in the right direction. We translate insights into strategies that don’t sit on the shelf and help teams align around shared goals, stronger culture, and long-term impact.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Trepwise is seeking a Senior Advisor to lead our most complex, high-impact client engagements, including multi-year nonprofit strategic plans, organizational effectiveness initiatives, and systems-level or collective-impact efforts that span institutions and sectors. As Trepwise continues to expand nationally while deepening our presence in New Orleans, this position is essential to strengthening our local practice and augmenting the expertise of our regional team.
This New Orleans–based role requires deep familiarity with the region’s civic, nonprofit, and public-sector landscape. Senior Advisors represent Trepwise in rooms with client leadership, facilitate dynamic conversations among diverse stakeholders, and translate complex challenges into clear pathways for action. The Senior Advisor is both a doer and a leader: able to independently and efficiently drive work forward, and coach, collaborate with, and elevate their project teams. The Senior Advisor leads their own set of projects and also provides strategic oversight on a small set of engagements led by other Advisors and Senior Associates.
Senior Advisors also help grow the firm by cultivating client relationships, contributing to business development efforts, strengthening team capacity through professional development, and modeling Trepwise’s values of humanity, authenticity, collaboration, curiosity, agility, and rigor in every setting.
The Senior Advisor reports to the Managing Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Lead Complex Client Engagements
- Serve as the strategic lead for multi-faceted projects, including organizational strategic planning; organizational effectiveness and culture work; and collective-impact and systems-planning efforts.
- Hold responsibility for defining project direction, establishing the narrative arc, and ensuring deliverables and outcomes meet Trepwise’s high-quality standards.
- Navigate complex organizational and political dynamics with cultural fluency, particularly within New Orleans’ nonprofit, philanthropic, civic, and public-sector ecosystem.
Produce Outstanding Deliverables & Provide Thought Leadership
- Produce and lead others in producing major deliverables, including strategic plans, research reports, financial models, and presentations.
- Communicate complex analyses through writing that is crisp, compelling, and accessible to a variety of audiences.
- Function as an internal subject matter expert around areas such as strategy, systems change, public policy, governance, and organizational culture change.
Facilitate High-Stakes Conversations & Multi-Stakeholder Processes
- Design and lead inclusive, outcomes-driven facilitation sessions with groups ranging from small leadership teams to large, cross-sector coalitions.
- Guide stakeholders through complex decision-making processes using strategic thinking, systems thinking, and human-centered design.
- Translate diverse perspectives and data into clear, actionable insights.
Provide Oversight & Coaching Across Engagements
- Oversee and advise on projects led by other team members, providing high-level guidance, problem-solving support, and quality assurance.
- Coach and develop consultants at all levels; identify growth opportunities and recommend professional development pathways.
- Model high standards for analytical rigor, writing quality, facilitation, client communication, and project management.
Steward Client Relationships & Advance Business Development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor throughout and beyond the project lifecycle.
- Identify new opportunities with existing clients and cultivate relationships with potential partners in the Greater New Orleans region and beyond.
- Support lead generation, proposal development, scope design, and public presentations that expand the firm’s reach and strengthen our brand.
- Serve as a thought leader externally, representing Trepwise at community events, public convenings, and speaking engagements and publishing written thought leadership as requested.
Strengthen Internal Culture & Organizational Capacity
- Contribute to internal initiatives that advance equity, culture, and operational excellence within Trepwise.
- Design and lead internal trainings, peer learning sessions, and professional development offerings.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in consulting, nonprofit leadership, urban planning, public-sector strategy, collective impact, organizational development, or related fields.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-stakeholder initiatives from design through implementation.
- Exceptional facilitation skills, with the ability to lead rooms of diverse stakeholders—including senior executives, community leaders, and public-sector partners.
- Strong writing and synthesis capabilities; ability to translate complexity into clarity.
- Fluency with technology tools that support modern consulting (collaboration platforms, analysis tools, presentation design, AI platforms, etc.).
- A deep understanding of the New Orleans ecosystem, or equivalent experience with a commitment to developing this expertise quickly.
- Experience supervising and developing others; commitment to coaching and team growth.
- Experience contributing to business development through relationship-building, thought leadership, and proposal development.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MPA, MPP, or equivalent) strongly preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$95,000 - $105,000+ commensurate with experience. Trepwise also has a generous package of benefits, including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, the option to enroll in a Simple IRA plan with a 3% match, two annual firm breaks (summer and winter), and unlimited paid time off.
Trepwise is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, ability, age, or veteran status. We work hard to ensure diverse slates of candidates for openings at our company.

Ideal Candidates
Our ideal candidate is an experienced consulting and/or organizational leader with a strong track record of guiding complex, multi-stakeholder work from strategy through implementation. They bring deep expertise in one or more areas of our work: strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, facilitation, systems thinking, and/or qualitative and quantitative analysis. While experience in the nonprofit or public sector is preferred, we welcome candidates from a range of industries who have led high-impact projects, managed diverse teams, and demonstrated the ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable strategies. Candidates who excel in client service, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative problem-solving will thrive in this role.
For this position, we are seeking applicants who live in or are in the process of relocating to New Orleans. We operate on a hybrid basis: our New Orleans-based team members are generally expected to spend time at the office at least one day per week, and are otherwise expected to work locally from a location of their choice. New Orleans-based team members are expected to attend designated in-person team meetings one or more times per month, and may be required to attend certain client meetings in-person (either in New Orleans or elsewhere) as needed.
Hiring Process
The selection process consists of three rounds: a behavioral interview, a case study work product and presentation, and a final interview with the leadership team. Reference checks (3), a Predictive Index Behavioral Assessment, and a background check will be conducted for final candidates.
We aim to extend an offer in January 2026, with a start date in late February 2026.
