Velocity Squared, LLC is seeking a dedicated Remote Help Desk Specialist to join our dynamic Information Technology and Services team. This role is essential in delivering timely, efficient technical support to our clients and internal users, ensuring smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.

Key Objectives

  • Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Respond promptly to user inquiries via phone, email, or ticketing system.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and user communications.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Ensure a positive and professional experience for all users seeking assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for end-user technical support requests in a remote setting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Guide users through step-by-step solutions, providing clear and patient communication.
  • Manage and prioritize support tickets to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Install, configure, and update software and hardware as needed.
  • Document recurring issues and contribute to the development of knowledge base articles.
  • Work closely with other IT staff to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a help desk or technical support role, preferably in a remote environment.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with common software applications, networking principles, and remote support tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL) are a plus.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support or help desk roles.
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as Zendesk, Jira, or ServiceNow preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts including VPN, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and troubleshooting tools.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and learn new systems quickly.
