Job Description

Position Summary

The Department of Communication Disorders in the School of Allied Health Professions at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans seeks a full-time, 12-month Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Clinician. This non-faculty position will be based on-site in the LSUHSC Speech-Language & Hearing Clinic in New Orleans.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide direct evaluation and treatment to pediatric and adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders in the LSUHSC Speech-Language & Hearing Clinic

· Conduct speech-language screenings and community-based evaluation and treatment in partner sites

· Provide clinical education and supervision to graduate SLP students in diagnostic and treatment settings, ensuring compliance with ASHA and CAA accreditation standards

· Assist in clinical operations, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination of on- and off-site practicum experiences

· Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the mission of the department and ensure high-quality evidence-based clinical education and practice.


Minimum Qualifications

· Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

· Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in Speech-language Pathology.

· Current active Louisiana license (or eligibility for licensure) in Speech-Language Pathology.

· Minimum of one-year post-certification clinical experience providing diagnostic and treatment services.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supervising graduate students in a clinical or educational setting.

· Background in both school-based and adult-based intervention preferred.

· Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
