Location: New Orleans, LA, Combination of in the field and on site work

About Us

The Inner Pup is a 501c3 non-profit. Our mission is to advance equitable access to pet health, behavior, and resources through community-driven programs. We do this through grassroots driven principles with a focus on community based care. This position is more than just a job - it’s an opportunity to join a small but effective team full of passionate people who love helping pets AND people.

As a small, tight-knit team making a big impact, we value team members who are flexible, compassionate, collaborative, and share our mission - to ensure that pets in New Orleans can stay with their owners, and that circumstantial issues, like finances, illnesses, housing, or otherwise, don't lead to an owner having to give up their beloved pet.

Like human social services, TIP strives to build a safety net that will support families in their time of need. In addition, TIP employees, volunteers, and clients serve as leaders and ambassadors in the field of animal welfare, providing information to community members not only to help their own pets, but to help save the thousands of pets in the Greater New Orleans area that die in shelters each year. By keeping pets in homes, increasing awareness of the issues driving the pet overpopulation crisis, and finding community based solutions, TIP achieves better outcomes for pets and people!

You will set your own schedule in order to best meet community members’ needs, and your day to day tasks will vary. You might be handing out leashes and collars in the community one day, leading presentations at a community based meeting the next, running a community clinic with 35 volunteers that weekend, and spending the next several days tracking administration objectives and sending out client communications via email, Google Voice, and Salesforce.
