Reports To: Visionary / CEO 

Employment Type: Full-Time, 1099 contract for 1st 12 months, W-2 eligible in 2026

Compensation: $120,000 - 150,000 per year

We manage four distinct entities under the Grit Energy umbrella, each with unique business models, objectives, and financial frameworks: Frigate Energy, Jellyfish Resources, Tiburon Logistics, and Cuda Bunkering. 


Position Overview

Grit Energy Group, an oil and gas–related company, is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Head of Finance to oversee all financial and accounting operations for the family office and its four affiliated companies. The ideal candidate will bring deep accounting expertise, strong financial leadership, and the ability to work across multiple businesses and stakeholders. Experience in the oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, or logistics industries is strongly preferred, as it aligns with the company’s operations and growth strategy. This is a critical role ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic insight that supports long-term success. Entrepreneurial-minded individuals will thrive in this dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Oversight

• Lead and manage all accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations for all four entities.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

• Consolidate financials across multiple entities for internal and external reporting.


Strategic Planning & Analysis

• Support the creation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models in collaboration with company leaders.

• Provide cash flow analysis and working capital management across entities.

• Identify areas for cost optimization and revenue growth through financial insights.


Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulatory requirements, and financial policies.

• Manage audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.

• Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures.


Team & Vendor Coordination

• Collaborate with external CPAs, bookkeepers, legal advisors, and banking partners.

• Supervise or support internal accounting staff or outsourced vendors, as applicable.

• Act as the main point of contact for financial matters across the companies.


Systems & Process Creation

• Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to establish reporting accuracy and efficiency.

• Standardize financial operations and reporting formats across all business units.


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.

• Experience in oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, or logistics industries is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of accounting programs Irely and PDI is a preferred characteristic.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Excel.

• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive financial data.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with executive leadership.

What We Offer

• Base pay - $120,000 - 150,000

(Salary is based on multiple factors including market demands, experience, unique skills, and business needs. The range may be modified in the future.)
