Job Description
Litigation Paralegal – Insurance Defense & Transportation
New Orleans, LA | Full-Time | Hybrid (WFH 1 day a week)
Leake Andersson is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team. This role supports multiple attorneys with busy insurance defense and transportation dockets and requires a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case evaluation
- Summarize medical records and deposition transcripts
- Prepare medical chronologies
- Notice and set depositions
- Draft pleadings, answers, and discovery – complying with court-imposed deadlines
- Request medicals via subpoena (SDT)
- Coordinate extensive discovery activities, including but not limited to, preparing deposition and medical binders, assisting with trial preparation, and managing and recording billable time entries in compliance with clients’ billing guidelines
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as an insurance defense paralegal
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with ProLaw is a plus
