Job Description

Position Overview:

Join our team as a Payroll and Accounting Specialist at our Metairie office, where you'll play a central role in maintaining the financial stability of our organization. We seek an accomplished individual with a minimum of 2 years of payroll or bookkeeping experience, coupled with strong administrative skills. In this role, you will oversee the processing of accounts payable, manage client billing, and contribute to payroll operations. Your responsibilities will also include cultivating vendor relationships and addressing internal and external inquiries. Knowledge of state payroll taxes, familiarity with Paycor, and a solid grasp of compensation laws in Texas and Louisiana are significant advantages.


Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, verify, and accurately record employee attendance and hours worked.

• Process payroll semi-monthly and weekly, ensuring precision and timeliness.

• Process and monitor garnishment orders.

• Collaborate with the HR Manager to address employee complaints related to incorrect payments and resolve discrepancies.

• Conduct regular audits of payroll records to maintain ongoing accuracy.

• Efficiently process accounts payable using accounting software and relevant tools.

• Accurately prepare and process client billing, including thorough time and expense reconciliation.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of compensation laws in Texas and Louisiana.

• Perform additional assigned tasks and duties.


Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ethical conduct when handling sensitive financial information.

• Exceptional attention to detail and high efficiency.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Willingness to adhere to all company, local, state, and federal financial regulations.

• Authorization to work for any U.S. employer.



Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.

• Familiarity with Paycor or similar payroll software.

• Previous experience with an accounting software package is advantageous.


Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods of desk work, including sitting and computer usage.

• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when required.
