Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will be our community liaison, serving as the connector between our programs, artists, and audiences. In collaboration with Studio staff, they will serve as the primary storyteller for the organization as well as serving as project lead for public programs, guiding our team in creating dynamic events that engage our audiences and support our residents.
- Share our story online through social media, website, and e-newsletters
- Create marketing and event plans for artist events, nature programs, summer camp, and an annual festival
- Coordinate the creation of print and digital media with external graphic designer, photographers and web services
- Create and distribute press releases for artist residency activities and events as well as other notable news
- Maintain press lists and track metrics for marketing and outreach impacts
- Communicate with residents to sensitively and accurately represent their work
- Supervise student intern(s) working on marketing projects
- Manage event-specific logistics such as ticketing interfaces, communication with participants, and food/supplies - this will include periodic evening and weekend events
- Maintain the database as it relates to event registration
- Work collaboratively to conceptualize event programs and themes
- Independent execution of Special Projects as needed, could include publication oversight, archive uploads, etc.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements to organizational culture and systems
- Other tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a non-specific field of study and 2 years of directly related work experience
- Strong interest in the arts and/or environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of individuals at all levels.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer packages, such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and database management.
- Working knowledge of communications and social media platforms such as Mail Chimp, Wordpress, Facebook, Instagram etc.
- Ability to work weekend and evening hours as necessary.
- Working knowledge of event coordination.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
We are located in a rustic, wooded environment 30 minutes from downtown New Orleans. Candidates must have personal transportation to and from our location. This position will be primarily on-site with some work-from-home flexibility.
COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time, hourly position through Tulane University with benefits including health care coverage, tuition assistance for continuing education, and a retirement package.
