Our GSAC team in Covington is looking for your compassionate and patient mindset to join us in working with children and their families through our clinic-based therapy. With your support and teamwork our BCBA’s develop a unique therapy plan that helps children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) advance their skills in communications, social and daily interactions and so much more.
You will be trained to become an ABA technician and will work closely under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist and Behavior Analysts that create the therapies. This is an entry level position and there are numerous opportunities for advancement on the clinical and/or managerial side of our company. Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (REQUIRED)
  • Bachelor’s degree; preference given to those with degrees in psychology, communication disorders, education, counseling, or a closely related field. (PREFERRED)
  • Valid driver’s license or Louisiana-issued state ID
  • Must Pass a Federal background check.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • 6 months experience working with children.
  • Previous experience as an ABA therapist or technician (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Communication with clinical staff, office staff, and a patient’s family is essential.
  • Duties will include assisting with daily living skills such as dressing, hygiene, and toileting.
  • Accurate implementation of treatment protocol.
  • Ability to work with clients who are seated on floors, in small chairs.
  • Move frequently throughout the facility to gather materials, anticipate, and respond to movement of a client.
  • Able to respond to the movements and behaviors of clients including but not limited to bending, kneeling/crouching to teach a particular skill.
  • Must be able to articulate sounds and model speaking clearly.
  • Use modeling to teach motor skills (climbing, jumping, clapping, opening a container).
Benefits:
  • The starting hourly rate is $16.50 per hour depending on experience. Advances in pay are available within six (6) months of employment.
  • 11 paid holidays for full time employees.
  • Five (5) PTO days for full time employees upon hire.
  • Lunch break, morning/afternoon short break if needed.
  • Clinic-based position - no travel, no nights, no weekends.
