Job Summary
The University of New Orleans College of Engineering is seeking an experienced professional for our Urban Construction Management Program. The B.S. in Urban Construction Management is offered through Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Dr. Robert A. Savoie College of Engineering at the University of New Orleans. Launched in 2020, this program is designed to prepare students to meet the needs of the greater New Orleans construction industry.
Job Duties
· Teach three courses in both the Fall and Spring term including the capstone course.
· Timely submission of assessment reports, accreditation reports, and other administrative tasks needed for SACS and program accreditation.
· Serve as a liaison between the program and the greater New Orleans construction industry.
· Work collaboratively with the college leadership and staff to promote recruitment and retention of students as well as adjunct faculty in the program.
· Support the continued development of the urban construction management program.
· Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives of the college and university.
Required Qualifications
· Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
· Broad understanding of the construction industry, with a specific emphasis on urban construction management.
· Effective communication, organization, and administrative skills.
· Ability to multi-task, collect information, analyze data, define challenges, set priorities, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner.
· Flexibility to work varied hours during on and off-campus events and be able to respond quickly if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
· Three or more years of experience in urban construction.
· Teaching experience in higher education.
· Experience building partnerships.
