About Where Y'Art
There’s no other city like New Orleans.
You can feel it wash over you when you walk down the street. A vibrant culture expressed in a hundred unpredictable ways, all made by real people with something special to offer the world. While there’s no shortage of amazing art and artists in New Orleans, navigating the many sub-cultures of our neighborhoods can be hard. Even those who live here may not know how to connect with neighbor artists and experience their work.
Art should be for everyone.
People of every possible background and description make art in New Orleans. We believe the audience for that art should be equally inclusive. Art doesn’t have to be intimidating and enjoying it shouldn’t require a specialized degree. It’s the lifeblood of our city, New Orleans’ greatest natural resource. Our art should be as approachable as the city that inspired it.
That’s why we created Where Y’Art.
The quantity and variety of art made in New Orleans can be overwhelming. And visitors to our city may not have the time they need to explore it all on their own. That got us thinking: How can we make New Orleans art accessible to people all over the world? And how can we help both visitors and locals find a direct path to the art that interests them most? We also saw that our favorite artists didn’t always connect with the audiences they deserve. The answer is Where Y’Art, a tool to discover, shop and experience the best of New Orleans art online and in person.
Here’s what we do.
Where Y’Art curates an online gallery where you can meet over 100 New Orleans artists — from painters to sculptors, craftsmen and jewelry designers — discover their passions and learn their stories. It’s a 24-hour meeting place where the artist is always present and the wall space knows no limits. We also maintain a physical gallery in New Orleans’ historic Faubourg Marigny neighborhood along with satellite galleries across the city.
At Where Y’Art’s online gallery you can:
* Browse New Orleans art and get to know the artists behind each piece
* Search local art by category, color, collection, price or neighborhood
* Message directly with artists on the platform
* Read the Where Y’Art blog to keep up with the latest trends in New Orleans art
