Job Description

**School based assignments will vary**

Responsibilities:

Provide support to the food service program with specific responsibilities for cooking and serving food items that meet mandated nutritional requirements and /or student or school personnel requests, including but not limited to:

  • Perform automated record keeping for the purpose of facilitating the accurate recording of purchases through student card or cash purchase
  • Maintain facilities in a safe and sanitary condition, including food storage, preparation and serving areas including documenting food temperatures to ensure food safety
  • Inventory and document food and supplies for tracking purposes
  • Prepares food using standardized recipes, accurate measurements, and correct food preparation
  • Serve correct food portions using acceptable sanitation techniques in food handling, maintaining correct holding temperatures and utilizing food merchandising techniques
  • Demonstrate cooperative and supportive work practices in order to maintain a positive work environment 


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, equivalent, or the ability to obtain diploma or equivalent within 12 months of employment
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, schedules, recipes and other printed information
  • Possess basic math proficiency
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate cafeteria equipment
  • Various sites may require the use of driving a district vehicle; therefore, a current driver's license is required
