The University of New Orleans (UNO) is seeking an experienced professional to serve in our Enrollment Services Department as an Admissions Counselor.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment Services, the Admissions Counselor will coordinate and attend recruitment programs on and off campus, advise students regarding program offerings, financial aid, and assist with reviewing applications.

 

Job Duties

·      ​Assists the Senior Director of Enrollment Services in visiting high schools to recruit freshman students, coordinating on, off, and virtual campus recruitment programs geared toward freshman students.

·      Establishes and cultivates on-going liaisons with high school counselors, parents, and students, as well as meeting and assisting with the application and registration processes.

·      Develops the required knowledge base to serve as a resource to all students coming to the Student Enrollment Services Center, and actively seek out this knowledge and take advantage of opportunities to grow professionally.  

·      Primarily responsible for the recruitment of new freshman students in assigned region.

·      Maintains a high level of customer service with prospective students and their families, university administration, faculty, and staff.

·      Communicates with prospective students/applicants to ensure submission of all supplemental application materials necessary for application review process.

·      Acts as a resource for those navigating the application and admissions process, as well as for on-campus departments associated with this process.

·      Guides students and families through the financial aid process: FAFSA, verification, and UNO scholarship awarding.

·      Works evening and weekend events during peak times and for recruitment events.

·      Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree.

·       Excellent oral and written communications skill and strong interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to relate to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

·       Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours.

·       Possess a high energy level and be a self-starter.

 

Desired Qualifications

·       Advanced degree.

 

Salary

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
