STUDENT INTERN:  INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DESKTOP SUPPORT

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana

We are looking for self-motivated and creative students to join an innovative information technology department in New Orleans.  This program gives real-world hands-on experience to driven and enthusiastic students. You will learn and begin to apply knowledge gained from supervised and mentored work. 


Internship will involve the following responsibilities: 

·         Respond to all service requests and efficiently complete all tickets assigned through any applicable ticketing systems;

·         Assist end-users on various hardware and software problems;

·         Deploy, re-image, and repair all computer hardware to meet customer needs;

·         Provide upgrades for all operating systems and assist in server support for assigned areas;

·         Troubleshoot all network and wireless connectivity issues for employees;

·         Research and provide guidance to employees on virus/malware threats and mitigation efforts;

·         Review networks for security vulnerabilities and report findings to IT management;

·         Assist in moving computers and phones for all internal user moves and new hires;

·         Disable accounts for retired end-users that have separated with the agency;

·         Update Active Directory and support users’ customer networks; and

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

·         Must be a student in an IT related field of study (Sophomore, Junior, or rising Senior).

·         Please provide the school you are attending and program on your application in the Education field.
