Job Description
HOURS: 7 am – 3 pm (Monday through Friday) Compensatory time may be allowed; not to go over 40 hours per week.
COMPENSATION:
Commensurate with experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have state certification, plus 3 – 5 years’ experience in a licensed day care facility.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To oversee the daily activities, employees, and financial aspects of day care center.
RELATIONSHIPS/ACOUNTABILITY:
Reports directly to the Pastor as the Head of Staff and is accountable to the Session of Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Church
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Direct activities of day care center facility to provide instruction and care for infants and children. Prepares and submits facility budget to session for approval.
2. Authorize purchase of instructional materials and teaching aids, such as books, toys, and games designed to stimulate learning.
3. Interview and recommend hiring of teaching and service staff. Conduct annual performance evaluations.
4. Confer with parents regarding facility activities, policies, and enrollment procedures
5. Collect payments from parents
6. Take parents on tours, write newsletters, and run staff meetings.
7. Confer with teaching staff regarding child's behavioral or learning problems, and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences.
8. Train the teaching staff and make sure they comply with childcare laws.
9. Review and evaluate facility activities to ensure conformance to state and local regulations.
10. Organize parent contact information and dietary restrictions or medical conditions for each child.
11. Contact parents when a child becomes ill.
12. May arrange medical attention for ill or injured child in accordance with parental instructions.
13. Oversee safety measures to promote a safe environment for the children.
14. May perform classroom duties during absence of regular teacher
15. Provide reports to the session of any site visit evaluations, findings and recommendations.

· Should possess strong administrative skills and the ability to work independently without supervision
