Job Description
Salary:
- $60,000-$80,800
Work Duration:
Nine (9) months
- 183 Days
- 7.5 hours per day
Responsibilities:
- Set rigorous yet appropriate learning outcomes
- Establish supportive relationships with student
- Engage students in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, real world discussions and learning activities
- Develop authentic and aligned assessments to measure student growth and inform instructional decisions, especially pertaining to students with special needs
- Develop plans (I.E.Ps, service plans, etc…) that are data based and support the growth and development of students
- Collaboratively work with team members to fulfill the mission, vision and beliefs of both the school and the district
Certification / Requirements:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
- Louisiana teaching certificate with certification in mild moderate and/or significant disabilities
- Type A, B or C - or - Level 1, 2 or 3
- Experience in creating and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans
- Knowledge in the area of instructional methodologies for students with disabilities and Bulletins 1706 / 1508
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders
- Experience teaching students with the disability of emotional disturbance is preferred

About St. Charles Parish Public Schools
St. Charles Parish Public Schools has been at the forefront of education and a leader among public schools in Louisiana since the mid 1970’s. Led by Superintendent Dr. Kenneth W. Oertling and eight board members, the school system is home to more than 9,800 students and 1,700 employees. Fifteen schools, four centers and 7 sites serve the community of St. Charles Parish with classes ranging from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, head start, adult education, and community education.
