Job Description
About Us:
Son of a Saint exists to transform the lives of fatherless young men through mentorship, emotional support, development of life skills, exposure to constructive experiences, and formation of positive, lasting peer-to-peer relationships. Son of a Saint equips young men with the tools they need to become productive men. We provide a secure and consistent environment for them, through which they find hope, vision, and opportunity. Son of a Saint mentors’ most important role is simply to be a good example.
Position Summary:
Son of a Saint is looking for a full-time Communications & Content Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for directly aiding with brand marketing and strategic communications, including in-house content creation, capturing photography and video, designing and managing social media content, executing digital branding campaigns, plus other day-to-day needs. This position will report directly to the Director of Branding + Communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the creation of mock-ups, email campaigns, and social media content.
- Design and present new social media campaign ideas.
- Edit and design digital content and detailed promotional presentations.
- Capture dynamic real-time photo and video content for Son of a Saint’s programming and events on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain and update content design and ongoing revisions to Son of a Saint’s website.
- Monitor all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback.
- Organize and maintain Son of a Saint’s voluminous photography archive.
- Help with the planning and hosting of marketing events.
- Assist with daily communication duties and opportunities.
- Perform industry and trend research on the latest trends.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Experience working with youth
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and is able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in an office work environment and on-site at each event
- Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
Education/experience requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, mass communication, public relations or related field.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience working with youth or nonprofit institutions preferred
Job skill requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in capturing, creating, and editing video and photography content
- A proven ability to assess data and apply expertise in marketing, creativity and team leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet goals and objectives
