Job Description

Kind of Work

The purpose of this position is to receive complaints and request for service from residents and businesses of Jefferson Parish after working hours, weekends, and holidays. Dispatches appropriate department service personnel to handle problems noted on the SCADA computer system. Dispatches appropriate department service personnel to various locations in response to complaints and requests for service. Performs computer monitoring of Public Works facilities to prevent or minimize public works emergencies and insure that all public works facilities are functioning properly and efficiently. Monitors the operation of machinery and equipment connected to and measured by the Parish's computerized SCADA system. Uses judgment in determining the proper department to be notified of alarms and alerts prompted by the SCADA computer monitoring system. Performs related work as required.  Please note this position works on a rotating shift basis which involves day, night, weekend, and holiday schedules.  

Minimum Qualifications For Admission to Examination

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency certificate or completion of vocational/business school;
AND at least one (1) year of full-time, paid work experience in the preparation, processing, and follow-up of repair and/or service work orders, and/or experience in radio dispatching of service personnel.

Applicants must have knowledge of personal computers and the Windows environment.


Salary

$24,948.00 Annually
