Production Coordinator – Reports to Operations Director, Andrew Woodruff

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Production Coordinator supports Operations Director in all aspects of Event Production, with a special focus on staging, tenting, logistics, permitting, inventory, signage, and procedures. This seasonal and part time position is perfect for someone with experience and passion for event production, a flexible Springtime schedule, and a get-it-done attitude. Formerly known as the Operations Assistant – this is a vital role with real responsibilities before and during Festival. May be asked to represent Operations Director in key vendor relationships. Production coordinator will manage interns and supervise select CREW positions. 

·             PRE-FESTIVAL: Production Coordinator will work with Operations Director in creation of spreadsheets, files, binders, bins, maps, permitting. Lead inventory management (equipment, signage, supplies, etc.) Assist in preparation of meetings, be professional and detailed in note-taking during supplier meetings. Create and laminate signage, credentials, production schedules, contact lists. Assist in the parking process for all necessary staff, suppliers, and sponsors.

·             LOAD-IN: As a representative of the FQFI Operations Department, the Operations Coordinator will have important knowledge that may be called upon for on-site communication and coordination with suppliers, site representatives, and staff during load-in. Help in management of Operations Crew at each site. This can include answering on-site questions, providing relief, water distribution, delivering necessary supplies, and giving respectful direction. Odd-duties: must be able to lift 30lbs comfortably.

·             DURING FESTIVAL: Provide assistance where needed before, during and after festival each day, which may include; Moving supplies, equipment, or people (via golf cart) anywhere within our festival sites, signage installation, filling out incident reports, communicating on behalf of Operations Director. Representative of the festival Operations Department and report issues to Director as necessary

·             LOAD OUT: Assist in removing equipment from festival grounds and returning back to FQFI offices and suppliers. Inventory signage, equipment, supplies from festival sites. Provide written wrap report, complete invoice review, and discuss preliminary changes for next year’s event.

BENEFITS: Hourly, seasonal position. $20 / hour, IRS form W9 position. Parking provided at FQFI office in the French Quarter. Meals provided on event days.

TERM: Role dependent, but generally part time, January through April, 2023. Flexible hours with a mutually agreeable schedule, Monday through Friday. Must be available for all four (4) French Quarter Festival event days – April 13, 14, 15, 16 (Thurs-Sun), long days working in the field producing French Quarter Festival 2023.

EXPECTATIONS:  All Crew/Staff/Interns are expected to act in a kind and professional manner at all times. FQF is a family friendly festival and that respect for our fans is mirrored in how we treat our crew, volunteers, vendors, musicians, sponsors, and neighbors. During the Event, CREW must be comfortable communicating via handheld radio, lifting up to 30lbs, and interacting with the public. CREW may be required to report and document incidents that occur during production. If driving a golf cart CREW will be required to have a valid driver’s license on their person at all times.

TIMELINE (ESTIMATED):

4 months, part time seasonal work. Flexible in office schedule, Monday through Friday.
