What began as a handmade oyster shell jewelry brand has evolved into a full-service agency, blending artistry and community to craft personalized and impactful marketing strategies. From our origins at the crossroads of Freret Street and Napoleon Avenue, we’ve expanded to serve clients across the U.S., bringing a unique touch to every brand we collaborate with.
About the Role
As a Social Media Specialist, you’ll lead the charge in designing and executing innovative social media strategies, producing engaging content, and fostering authentic connections with audiences. You’ll be a key player in our collaborative team, working closely with clients to ensure every campaign aligns with Freret Napoleon’s commitment to delivering meaningful, high-quality results. From New Orleans’ vibrant streets to a national stage, you’ll help create bold and beautiful brand narratives.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Project Management
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout all stages of collaboration.
- Build and nurture strong, trust-based relationships with clients, proactively addressing their needs with professionalism and adaptability.
- Partner with the team to brainstorm and execute tailored marketing strategies, leveraging the collective expertise in content creation, social media management, and photography.
Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Lead the development and execution of innovative social media campaigns tailored to clients’ goals.
- Create engaging content—copy, photography, and video—that authentically represents each client’s brand.
- Manage a dynamic editorial calendar that integrates with wider marketing strategies and ensures consistent content delivery.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for each campaign, delivering detailed reports to clients on engagement and results.
- Leverage data-driven insights to refine strategies and enhance performance, focusing on engagement, follower growth, and ROI.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, tools, and algorithm updates to keep client campaigns at the forefront of industry developments.
Creative Development & Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the team to produce high-quality creative assets that reinforce the brand’s messaging and visual identity.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure all deliverables align with Freret Napoleon’s established brand standards and voice.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 0-1 years of social media marketing experience
- Photography experience (basic skills required)
- Content Creation experience
Competencies & Skills
- Exceptional grammar and spelling (candidates who do not meet this standard are encouraged to reconsider applying)

- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to craft messaging that aligns with brand voice and objectives
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Active engagement on social media platforms
- Familiarity with social media trends and best practices
- Basic photo editing experience is a plus
Work Environment
- Hybrid work environment with a mix of in-office and remote work.

- Travel may be required to attend client meetings or events.
