Ingest. Restaurant Data Made Easier.

Ingest is a data management and analytics platform for restaurants and F&B retailers. By integrating with the tools and systems that businesses rely on (think Toast, Resy, etc.), Ingest connects separate data sources to unlock hard-to-reach metrics, giving decision makers the real-time insights they need to better run their businesses. Through interactive dashboards, emailed PDF Flash Reports, and exportable .csv files, everyone in the business can see what's working, what’s not, and where improvements can be made.

The Role:

Our Senior Data  Engineer will be working with a large cross-section of the Platform Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales teams to build and maintain data pipelines for various partners. You’ll be architecting and implementing data infrastructure best practices, as well as developing customer-specific and 3rd party integrations

Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):

Architect and execute on a technical roadmap to handle 30x the ingestion volume and 2x the speed of integration development within the next 2 years through improved data pipeline configuration, data lineage observability, and an improved ingestion framework.

• Understand and translate restaurant industry-specific metrics and business logic into normalized data models and reporting tables.
• Estimate, prioritize, and develop restaurant 3rd party integrations alongside customer success and sales.
• Participate in data ingestion on calls to ensure the timeliness and reliability of data ingestions.
• Learn and understand business use cases in the restaurant industry to model database schemas
• Develop flows to roll data up for improved performance and to perform complex computations that can be used in reports.
• Design modular transformation strategies based on customer-defined rules and ML classification to tag and organize restaurant data.

Skills & Abilities (What You’ll Bring):

Required:

• Proficient with Python, YAML, JSON, and basic shell scripting
• Ability to plan and execute technical solutions on top of our existing integration frameworks (Pandas, Airflow, DBT, Kubernetes)
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Strong communication skills and capacity for teamwork
• Self-driven and capable of working in a remote role without hand-holding

Preferred:

• Experience with Airflow and DBT
• Experience with Prometheus +  Grafana and/or a similar monitoring stack
• Developer boot camp and/or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
