Job Description
Responsibilities
Provide support in student transportation services, including but not limited to:
- Assist students and other passengers to provide safe loading and unloading of buses during transport and emergency situations
- Collaborate with bus operator on passenger management to assist with student control
- Enforces rules/regulations to maintain student safety and well being
- Monitors students with special needs to ensure safe transportation of all passengers
- Reports observations/incidents of concern to appropriate personnel for action
- Secures students and/or their equipment (restraints, wheel chair tie down, seat belts, etc.) to ensure safety of students
Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalent, or the ability to obtain diploma or equivalent within 12 months of employment
- Ability to operate a wheelchair lift, wheelchair straps and safety vests within 30 days post hire
- Must complete first aid training successfully within 90 days after hire
- Experience working with students with multiple disabilities preferred
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
