Job Description

This is a full-time in-person or hybrid "Production Coordinator" position (40 hours per week) for Elephant Quilt Productions, a video agency in New Orleans, LA. Our focus is creating video marketing content that tells authentic stories for clients & brands. Our core clients include many non-profit & cultural organizations, corporate businesses, marketing agencies, universities, businesses, healthcare, and artists. We produce commercials, web & social content, documentaries, concert videos, educational content and more. We are a small, hard-working, in-house team, contracting additional freelancers based on individual project scope/needs.


Job Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

  • Management of Project Management System (using Monday.com) which requires daily status updates, task assignment & completion of project-related tasks based on production templates, assigned teams and communication/updates
  • Preparation for and co-lead bi-weekly team meetings to review Monday.com project statuses & and other office-related communications
  • Regular email, phone, zoom & text communications with clients & production team
  • Working under direction of Elephant Quilt Owner/Creative Director
  • Working with in-house Post-Production Coordinator & Project Producers
  • Office management to ensure space remains organized/neat for client meetings, and works with fellow team members to ensure drinks/snacks remain stocked, equipment is stored neatly and the vibe is good.
  • Completion of Pre-Production tasks for most of our projects,  including but not limited to scheduling crew & client meetings & location scouts, developing shot list breakdowns with Creative Director, compile equipment lists, coordinate shooting schedules between client & crew, coordinating crew hires & sending deal memos for each project,, production calendar updates, creation of post-production schedules for review/approval, and so forth.
  • Working regularly on set with our productions as a Production Assistant or Assistant Director

The Candidate We Are Looking For:

  • Has great communication skills (both verbally & via email)
  • Is very organized and detail-oriented
  • Is able to manage a lot of moving parts on multiple projects with confidence
  • Takes direction and constructive criticism with a receptive attitude toward growth & improvement
  • Warm, friendly and positive, but also confident & assertive to "make things happen" in a timely manner
  • Has a few years of experience working in film/video production
  • Has a good understanding of all the phases of production (from pre-production through post-production)
  • Has a Bachelors degree (preferred)
  • Is good with cloud-based apps (such as Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Calendar, Dropbox, Vimeo, Zoom, etc)
  • Has some experience using project management software (such as Monday.com, Asana, Trello, etc)
  • Has some experience with Adobe Creative Suite


Pay & Benefits:

  • Starting rate $25/hr, 40 hours per week (around $50k annually) based on experience (with opportunities for raises at employee reviews).
  • Major federal holidays are paid (PTO) + 2 additional floating PTO days annually to start (with opportunities to increase PTO days at employee reviews)
  • We offer 50% contribution to premium if you choose to enroll in our small group health plan (currently through Blue Cross Blue Shield of LA)

His passions are creative collaboration, spotlighting great stories, preserving history, celebrating culture, building community and spreading positivity.

Before starting Elephant Quilt in 2012, Jason was Music Producer for Disney’s Imagination Movers, Technical Director for the public radio’s American Routes and Music Inside Out. A graduate in Film from the University of New Orleans, Jason’s first love is music, is a singer-songwriter, and bassist for indie rock band Rotary Downs.
