Job Description

Provide support for St. Charles Parish Public Schools and programs in support of the Internal Auditor and assigned tasks, including but not limited to:

• Provide additional support to all bookkeeper School Office Specialists at SCPPS schools, including reviewing monthly bank reconciliations and other transactional operations for compliance

• Provide financial, attendance, and enrollment data related review and support to all Before and After School Child Care Personnel and supervisors

• Act as the SCPPS student record request representative, handling transcript and diploma requests, as well as answering related questions

• Additional secretarial duties and responsibilities such as ordering office supplies, managing purchase orders, and other correspondence

• Assist in the annual inventory of all SCPPS capital assets, including updating ledgers and relevant supporting documentation, as well as handling inquiries and follow-up where necessary  

Requirements:

High school diploma, equivalent, or the ability to obtain diploma or equivalent within 12 months of employment

• Minimum of 3 years school secretarial experience preferred

• Must obtain a passing score on the bookkeeping assessment

• Proficient in secretarial skills including:

  • Various computer software programs (Microsoft Office Products), typing, spelling and grammar
  • Proficient in operation of basic office equipment
  • Verbal and written communication skills, and good public relation skills
  • Attention to detail ü Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
