Job Description
SoPH seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented person to join our school as a Program Coordinator of Research and Grants. In this role, this person will provide comprehensive support to our faculty/principal investigators and co-investigators in preparing their research projects and submitting grant applications. This person will also be responsible for administrative responsibilities for the Research, Evaluation, Analysis, and Design Center (R.E.A.D.) This person will play a critical role in facilitating the success of research projects and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
30% Grant Application Support:
1. Work with Faculty/Investigators to prepare grant applications, including budget development, budget justification, and other administrative components such as the Statement of Work, Consortium letters, Biosketches, Other support, etc.
2. Coordinate the submission process, ensuring all documentation and requirements are met according to the funding agency guidelines and LSUHSC/ORS policies.
3. Review grant proposals for completeness and compliance with funding (FOA) requirements.
4. Help with IRB applications.
5. Help with grant application routing and submission
30% Compliance and Reporting:
1. Ensure adherence to LSUHSC policies, sponsor regulations, and ethical standards throughout the research process.
2. Assist faculty/investigators in preparing and submitting progress reports and other documentation required by funding agencies (e.g., Just-in-Time documents).
3. Provide guidance to faculty/investigators on internal grant application procedures and compliance requirements.
4. Serve as a resource for faculty and staff regarding funding opportunities, policies, and procedures.
20% R.E.A.D. Administration:
1. Coordinate client service requests for R.E.A.D. and act as a liaison between clients and individuals available to provide the requested support services.
2. Collaborate with the R.E.A.D. Director and Co-Director to analyze projects, allocate tasks, and provide project cost estimates to clients.
3. Collect billable hours information to provide to the finance administration office for monthly invoicing of services. Track all client related data to ensure appropriate projects/clients are billed and all client related information is accurate and up-to-date.
15% Communication:
1. Foster effective communication and collaboration among investigators, research teams, departmental administrators, and external partners.
2. Act as a liaison between investigators and various university departments, funding agencies, and other stakeholders.
3. Help disseminate information on training and funding opportunities to researchers.
5% Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in public health, administration, or related field
- Three years of work experience
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Substitutions:
- A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for two years of professional level experience. A Bachelor’s degree in another discipline will be considered with an additional three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience with and knowledge of federal and non-federal research sponsors. Experience with electronic research grants administration systems. Certified Research Administrator.
Reference: Salary Grade: N26 48,000 min – 63,000 mid
