Job Description

LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans is actively recruiting for a highly motivated, skilled and organized individual for the School of Allied Health Professions(SAHP) Office of Research. The position involves a diverse range of administrative responsibilities within the SAHP Office of Research. Key duties include planning research-related meetings, seminars, and educational events, as well as overseeing the office’s website and preparing mass communication emails. The role also entails monitoring and reporting on external funding sources, maintaining a database of project awards, and providing administrative support for special projects. The position assist with regulatory requirements for IRB submissions and ensures all study personnel complete necessary regulatory training. The role also supports the management of intramural and extramural grant and training programs by preparing funding announcements, managing award tracking and progress reports, and handling communication related to awards and declinations. The ability to work independently and prioritize is critical in this multifaceted role.

General Coordination and Administration:

  • Plan and manage the coordination of SAHP Office of Research-related meetings, seminars, and educational/training events
  • Monitoring and reporting of external funding sources as requested including award tracking as well as identifying federal, state, and private funding resources that align with faculty expertise and interests
  • Create and maintain an active database of project awards
  • Assist in summarizing SAHP Office of Research data and creating reports, including graphs, figures, and tables.
  • Provide administrative support for special projects and initiatives within the SAHP Research Office.
    • Assist with management of the Intramural & Extramural Grant & Training Programs:
    • Prepare funding announcement opportunities
    • Prepare mass communication mailings
    • Manage award tracking and progress reports
    • Prepare award and declination notices



    Communications:

    • Manage and oversee the SAHP Office of Research Website
    • Prepare mass communication email blasts for the SAHP Office of Research

    Research Compliance:

    • Assist with regulatory requirements for review and approval by the IRB
    • Ensure all study personnel have completed necessary regulatory training and paperwork prior to start of studies/trials (i.e., CITI and KDS compliance training; Conflict of Interest and Significant Financial Interest forms).
