The University of New Orleans (UNO) is seeking an experienced professional to serve in our Enrollment Services Department as our Assistant Director for Recruitment and Events.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment Services, the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Events will organize, staff, and coordinate all recruitment programs on and off campus.  The Assistant Director will host UNO Preview days, all events, scholarship interviews, and supervise the UNO tour experience.

 

Job Duties
The Assistant Director of Recruitment and Events serves as an integral member of the University of New Orleans enrollment management team.  Responsibilities include the development, implementation, and assessment of campus events strategy in the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, developing relationships with internal and external institutional constituents, conducting campus visits with students, families, and organizations, assisting with registration and orientation events as needed, collaborating with advisors, and other recruitment and supervisory duties as assigned. The Assistant Director serves as the senior orientation, event, and campus experience representative of the institution and supervises the tour coordinator and roughly five student employees.

 

·      Coordinates all campus and online event efforts and will supervise and mentor all event and PEC staff.

·      Assist the Senior Director of Enrollment in planning, scheduling, and attending recruitment travel for the office of enrollment services.

·      Assist in the creation and management of the strategic communication plan.

·      Organize, invite, and conduct all UNO scholarship interviews.

·      Develops, implements, and assesses event planning including all necessary budget management, and programming.

·      Actively collects and uses data to make decisions and improve both individual and office performance.

·      Ensures timely, accurate, and efficient development and execution of events, creating performance goals and metrics, and oversees staff training while identifying and supporting professional development opportunities for staff.

·      Work collaboratively with colleges, departments, and divisions for planning, coordinating, implementing, and assessing admissions recruitment and student engagement strategies in accordance with the university's Strategic Enrollment Management Plan.

·      Develop the required knowledge base to serve as a resource to all students coming to the Privateer Enrollment Center. Will actively seek out this knowledge and take advantage of opportunities to grow professionally.

·      Promotes a culture of professional excellence and personal growth for all personnel assigned to the division.

 

·      Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

·      Bachelor's degree.

·      Excellent oral and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.

·      Ability to relate to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

·      Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours.

·      Possess a high energy level and be a self-starter.

 

Desired Qualifications

·      Master's degree.  

·      Minimum three consecutive years with increasing responsibilities in Enrollment Services.

·      Technical experience working with other software applications.

·      Comfortable with basic marketing, advertising, and recruiting principles.
