Job Description
In-Telecom is a Louisiana-based company, founded in 2009 as a consulting and business telephone system solution provider. Position Overview:
We are actively searching for a passionate and skilled Access Control Technician to enhance our teams across select locations. This role presents a unique opportunity to apply your IT skills in a diverse setting, contributing significantly to our client's success. Ideal candidates are able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electronic access control equipment and hardware.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- System Installation and Maintenance: Set up and maintain surveillance cameras, alarm systems, access control equipment, and ensure the stability and availability of these systems.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide expert onsite and remote technical support, diagnosing and resolving issues swiftly to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with construction teams and external vendors to ensure our technology needs are met and exceeded.
- System Programming and Integration: Assist with programming existing systems, system integrations, and support for new installations, offering solutions that drive our mission forward.
- Proactive Maintenance: Lead the charge in proactive work, focusing on system maintenance, backups, and upgrades to preempt potential issues.
- Documentation and Training: Develop comprehensive documentation and training materials for staff, conducting formal and informal training sessions to enhance team capabilities.
- Emergency Support: Respond promptly and professionally to after-hours emergency calls and requests as needed, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in service.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in physical security, fire alarm, or low voltage communication industry, installing field devices, and system programming.
- Familiarity with leading security and access control systems. Specific product knowledge is a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, gateways, routers, and switches.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a customer-first attitude.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or technical schooling preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, and manuals.
- Must be legally authorized to work and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
