Job Description
Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOTCF) is looking for an organized, reliable, and diligent Events & Programming Intern to join our team for Spring & Summer 2025! The Events & Programming intern will assist the Events & Programming Department in supporting the Foundation’s mission to educate, support and advance the global drinks industry..
The Events & Programming Intern will focus on administrative duties regarding the Tales of the Cocktail festival and year-round programming. The internship is largely remote, but onsite during the TOTC festival. From July 15-25, 2025, the intern will be responsible for on-site troubleshooting with our Events & Programming department regarding conference operations, Day of Service, Cocktail Apprentice Program, Tales Catalyst, sustainability initiatives and Volunteer coordination.
Tales of the Cocktail 2025 will be held in New Orleans this July 20-25th, creating a unique opportunity to learn and grow with the nonprofit organization as we prepare for our biggest fundraiser of the year. The Events and Programming Intern will walk away from this role with the skills, tools and best practices of what goes into planning and creating programming for a large-scale event.
Position Requirements
- Must be local to the New Orleans area
- Use of a vehicle
- Must have a laptop
- Knowledge of Google Drive
- Events Logistics or Festival experience preferred
Internship Commitment Requirements:
- January - Mid-July, 2025: 15-20 hours/week | Virtual
- Tales of the Cocktail signature events, July 15-25, 2025: 40+ hours/week | In person (New Orleans)
- August 4-22, 2025: 10-15 hours/week / Virtual
- NOTE: All Events & Programming Interns must be at least 21 years of age by their start date with Tales of the Cocktail Foundation.
Compensation:
- Internship pay rates start at $10/hour

Essential Core Position Functions & Responsibilities
● General
o Learn and develop skills with various Foundation platforms including but not limited to: Asana, Airtable, OpenWater, Google Drive, Slack, Whova.
o Administrative duties include meeting coordination, agenda preparation, data coordination, and note-taking.
o Attend weekly virtual Event Planning and Logistics meetings, Team Meetings, and any meetings with external planning partners
o Attend Quarterly Team Retreats in New Orleans as availability permits
● Events Department
o Onsite conference operations
o Assist in executing local errands
o Assist the Events team in the planning and execution of the 2025 Tales Catalyst event
o Event set up, assistance with coordination of complimentary tickets, and additional event support as needed.
● Programming Department
o Support the seminar application processes, data input, form creation and organization.
o Assist the Programs department with seminar coordination including organizing applications, moderator outreach, deadline reminders, etc.
o Attend Seminar application phone interviews, Education committee meetings.
● Tales of the Cocktail 2025
o Assist the Events team to:
▪ Execute of Tales Catalyst
▪ Organize and maintain events databases including data entry and compilation.
▪ Compile the Event Binders
● Tasting Rooms
● MTD
● Seminars
▪ Bookstore & Bitters Market
● Daily check in with Octavia books manager
● Manage signing schedule
o Assist the Programming team to:
▪ Organize and Execute Day of Service on Sunday, July 20th
▪ Assist Staff & Volunteer Coordinator as needed
o Throughout Tales in July, Events & Programming Intern will:
▪ Assist in supporting all event logistics & programming onsite
▪ Act as a “floater” to support various aspects of the events, including managing the Cocktail Tour sign ins
▪ Work with Partnerships Intern on Official Partner deliveries
o Assist the Events team Post-Tales in July for:
▪ Close out and reporting
● Compost
● Recycling
● Bookstore & Bitters Market
● Hotel final bill
● Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Work Authorization:

NOTE: This internship will be primarily remote and then onsite in New Orleans during the weeks of the events, July 15-25, 2025.
