Job Description
LSU Health New Orleans Division of Auxiliary Enterprises is seeking highly skilled and motivated applicants for the position of Electronic Technician (Computer Repairer). Must possess a valid Driver’s License in good standings.
Starting rate of pay for this position is $24.10 per hour but may be increased based on applicants’ qualifications. There is also an additional $1 Longevity pay for hours worked only.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic and electrical systems, or in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software).
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Training in a vocational-technical school or military school will substitute for the experience on the basis of one year of training for one year of experience.
College training with at least six semester hours per year in electronics or computer science will substitute for the experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.
CompTIA A+ Certification will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Install, terminate, test, and repair copper and fiber optic network cable on campus per LSUHSC, BICSI, and NEC standards. Install J-hooks, switch racks, cabinets, conduit, cable tray, ladder racks, and D rings to support cable and electronic equipment
- Install and repair in the field failures of computers, cameras, door locking equipment as required
- Interpret communication error codes generated by devices in the field or diagnostic equipment or software. Take appropriate action to repair or facilitate equipment repair
- Drive the state owned van and deliver packages to LSUHSC-NO campuses and clinics
- Perform repairs and maintenance on dormitory locks
- Operate personal computers and develop a good working knowledge of the software in use on the LSUHSC-NO campus.

- This is a Civil Service Position.
- This position does not require applicants to take a Civil Service test.
