Bastion Social Media Intern Job Description

Bastion is seeking a Social Media Intern to support the Communications Manager. This is a part-time hybrid position. Intern may be asked to attend occasional on-site meetings and events but will mostly work from home. We are seeking a college student or graduate student with strong graphic design skills and experience managing social media accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Create social media content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Research TikTok trends to help relaunch our account.
  • Research ways to increase social media engagement across all platforms.
  • Like, share, and comment on posts from accounts we follow on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Create templates for recurring social media posts in Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Express.
  • Assist with signage and other graphic design needs for Bastion’s Gala of Resilience.

10-15 hours per week beginning in September and concluding late November with possibility of further internship opportunities after January 1st. (Start date is flexible but applicants should plan to be with us through our Gala of Resilience on November 15th.)

About Bastion

Learn more about intentional living communities, the range and diversity of veteran experiences, and holistic health in a unique nonprofit setting. Bastion is America’s first intentional community for disabled veterans and their families. The core of our mission is “Community as the Intervention.” Our transformative, evidence-based on-site services and resources assist our veterans in building their independence, health, and wellness, but the core source of support our veterans receive at Bastion comes through their relationships with one another. Click here for a video overview of our community.

Benefits:

  • $1,200 stipend
  • Opportunity to produce design content for a New Orleans-based nonprofit that is in a stage of growth and expansion.
  • Access to on-site resources like monthly adaptive yoga, weekly TRE (tension/trauma releasing exercises) classes, and a twice weekly coffee cart to meet Bastion residents and gain a better understanding of our community integration model.
