About Operation Restoration:

Operation Restoration (OR) supports women and girls impacted by incarceration to recognize their full potential, restore their lives, and discover new possibilities. At OR, we focus on advocacy, education, economic mobility, and true economic equity for our staff, clients, and community. Our goal is to remove financial incentives for incarceration/ detention to increase investments in social services, education, and healthcare for all people. Incarceration is defined as confinement in prison, jail, immigrant, juvenile or military detention, or a deportation facility. Directly impacted women and girls are those who are or have been incarcerated, arrested, or on probation and/or parole.

About the Position:

Under the direction of the Social Service Lead, the Life Coach is responsible for providing case management services to Operation Social Services and life coaching to OR's clients across programs. This position is expected to get to know clients quickly, assess their goals efficiently, and formulate strategies to help them meet their goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives new clients as assigned by the Social Service Lead and/or admits new clients by completing the general intake form and identifying preliminary needs and potential resources.
  • Develop strategic plans for clients by meeting with them to discuss needs and goals.
  • Adjust clients' goals and strategies as needed.
  • Execute all reporting and recordkeeping systems that are routinely used throughout the Social Service department. (i.e. Apricot Social Solutions, SNAP E&T, ServicePoint HMIS, etc.)
  • Maintains clients' records by reviewing case notes, logging events and progress to make sure clients' files match data entered on Apricot database
  • Communicates clients' progress and seeks advice from teammates during weekly team meetings.
  • Monitor and adjust client statuses based on changing needs and conditions.
  • Coordinate with the department's Rapid Resource Responder to provide appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Address any client concerns with the appropriate in-house department.
  • Routinely engage with department's Rapid Resource Responder to identify relationships with community organizations to advance the work of Operation Social Services.
  • Collaborate daily with Operation Restoration staff to ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties related to Operation Social Services, as assigned.
  • Represent Operation Restoration at fundraising and community events. Identify fundraising and community events that can broaden Operation Restoration's footprint in the community.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Background in Social Service field and/or Social Work preferred
  • Be detailed oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and problem-solve
  • Be comfortable taking appropriate initiative
  • Two to four years of experience in a non-profit setting that provides social services
  • Commitment to criminal justice reform
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of people in a manner that positively portrays Operation Restoration and its program
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Excellent computer skills. Regular use of Microsoft Office and Google products
  • Ability to work well with diverse individuals and groups, balance needs, and employ objectivity
  • Ability to manage timelines, prioritize multiple products, and meet demanding deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to meet client needs and organizational changes

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for the position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Employee benefits include 75% employer-paid medical, 50% employer-paid dental and vision, a generous PTO policy, STD, Simple IRA with immediate employer match, and 12 paid holidays.
