Job Description
TIME FRAME: PART TIME, SHORT TERM POSITION April 8 to May 10, 2024
(60 hours total)
POSITION SUMMARY: To assist in the operation and management of the Computer Sign Machine, learning the Festival, as well as Signs & Décor departmental operations in the process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Assist in the operation of the sign-making computer, cutting out festival signs in vinyl.
● Lay out (where needed) signs and photos, and print and mount them in the studio, getting them to the point of being ready for installation.
● Learn to assimilate sign request information, keeping track of what’s been made and what hasn’t.
● Where needed, educate the Sign Liaison in proper sign layout and design.
● Interact with the Sign Liaison in getting sign requests and delivering cut vinyl to Liaison for sign assembly.
● Where needed, assist in sign assembly.
● Work as needed during the event as new sign requests come in throughout the Festival.
● Maintain and file sign lists for future reference.
REQUIREMENTS:
● Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the Festival Finance Office.

● Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
● Any document, computer program, design or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
● Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final reports.
● Perform all other work-related duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must be an excellent speller and typist. Must be familiar and skilled in the Vector Plotting Program currently used. Must know Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Must have flexibility to work overtime as needed. Extra hours will be compensated. Must have the ability to work under pressure and under occasionally stressful circumstances.
Pay: $20/hour
