Position Description

Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator is responsible for designing materials to support the promotion of the Museum’s Permanent Collection, programs, activities, exhibitions and facilities, with the goal of visitor growth and engagement as well as creating and managing daily content for social media. The Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator will ensure that brand visibility is consistent and supports the Museum’s unique, educational mission and strategic goals.


Job duties include, but are not limited to:


Graphic Design:

  • Design internal communication flyers, Museum signage, invitations, exhibition reports, sponsorship packets, exhibition catalogs and other materials as needed
  • Design and create ads including digital and print ads
  • Assist visitor services staff with the creation of updated gallery guides, rack cards and signage
  • Design and create rack cards and maintain an updated list for distribution to local partners
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and assist with supervision of the guideline conformity across departments


Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator


  • Assist the Marketing & Communications Manager in the writing and distribution of press releases and scheduling press coverage
  • Maintain and update media lists and media log regularly
  • Pitch events such as Free Family Day and Summer Camp to local news outlets


Web and Social Media:


  • Submit all Museum events to community calendar listings
  • Create and maintain regular schedule/calendar for social media and email blasts
  • Coordinate language and approval of social media and web content with appropriate departments
  • Create e-blasts through constant contact as needed and by request from other departments
  • Update the website with events and information regularly in coordination with other departments


Miscellaneous:


  • Track attendance and data entry for the Monthly Report and create regular Board Reports for distribution by the Manager of Executive Affairs & Special Projects
  • Manage the “info@” email and respond or redirect requests in a timely manner
  • Regularly attend Ogden Museum events including openings, member events, panel discussions, etc. to assist with photos for social media or coordinate with a scheduled professional photographer


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and one to three years of experience in graphic design and marketing
  • Proficient and experienced in Adobe Creative Suite and video editing skills
  • Highly organized and analytical, and able to manage multiple competing priorities at once
  • Experience with Constant Contact preferred
  • Excellent writing, copywriting, proofreading, research and communication skills
  • Ability to form strong connections with a wide variety of people; good listening skills
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with social media trends and management
  • Strong commitment to quality work and high productivity with close attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with constructive feedback and turn around edits quickly
  • Integrity, diplomacy and professional skills to work effectively on cross-team initiatives and to consult as appropriate
  • Flexible to work occasional weekday evenings and weekends for meetings and special events
  • Background or interest in the arts preferred


The Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator will be evaluated on a 30, 60, and 90 day probationary period.
