Job Description
TIME FRAME: THIS IS A SHORT TERM, SEASONAL POSITION
April 22 to May 8, 2024
POSITION SUMMARY: Works closely with the Food Field Assistant, Food Coordinator, Senior DHH/ATG Monitor, and Food Director to monitor food booth operations and enforce food safety protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Pre-event duties:
- Assist the Food Field Assistant in all aspects of food booth operation setup, including placing grease barrels, pallets, and other necessary production elements.
- Familiarize oneself with the field layout.
- Label food booths with vendor names and hang clipboards for temperature charts in all booths.
- Label shelves in refrigerated trucks with vendor names and ensure proper placement of food operations signs in designated areas.
- Check the field for food safety supplies, such as booth temperature charts, clipboards, thermometers, alcohol swabs, and sanitizer.
Event days:
- Assist vendors with load-in and load-out procedures daily.
- Support Food Department Supervisors in identifying and resolving problems promptly, which may involve adjusting duties at short notice and covering open monitor positions.
- Conduct routine checks of food vendors and booths to maintain smooth operations, with frequent oversight.
- Supervise the use of field kitchens to ensure cleanliness and order, and monitor holding tanks to prevent overflow.
- Conduct hourly quality control checks of food vendors after the daily departure of the DHH team, utilizing calibrated food thermometers.
- Assist in other field operations, including monitoring VIP/Sponsor Hospitality and Food Heritage Stages.
- Provide relief to stationary monitors for short breaks.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
- Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the Festival Human Resources Office.
- Must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
- Must attend and complete any required training.
- Any document, computer program, design, or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
- Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final Reports.
Pay $16/hour
