Job Description
Responsibilities
Work as a team to efficiently load-in, rearrange, and load-out furniture, equipment, and our tent.
- Arrive punctually
- Politely answer or direct any questions
- Read and interpret simple floorplans (example).
- Precisely move and set furniture and equipment.
- Assemble and disassemble 3 part tables and other furniture.
- Load-in/out 20x50 directly anchored tent.
- Align and lock stage panels and tables with coffin locks.
- Operate electric leaf-blower, bag trash.
Ideal Experience
Ideal applicants have experience with stage-hand work, general event work, or furniture moving but no experience required. Preference for applicants living proximate to Margaret Place.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and ability to carry up to 40lbs alone or 80lbs as a team.
Compensation
Day rate of $150, paid nightly via your choice of cash, venmo, or zelle.
Additional compensation possible for bussing and maintaining bathrooms, mopping and vacuuming after the event, or simple wireless operation of projectors, lighting, haze, and/or sound board.
Typical Schedule (Assuming 5:30pm ceremony)
2:00pm to 5:00pm - Move furniture from cafe setup to permit tent installation, install tent, and relocate furniture per floorplan. Leafblow or sweep.
5:00pm to 6:00pm - Standby during guest arrival and ceremony.
6:00pm to 6:20pm - “Flip” the space between ceremony and reception by rearranging chairs and tables, putting away folding chairs.
6:20pm to 10:00pm - Off-duty during reception
10:00pm to 11:00pm - Remove and store tent, relocate furniture for cafe operations. Sweep and collect trash with assistance of bar and catering staff, as well as outside vendors.
