Job Description

Managing Culture Team

  • Coaching Culture Coaches (Observation, Feedback, & Evaluation), Counselor/Social Worker(s), & Nurse
  • Facilitate Restorative Practices Professional Learning Group
  • Set, model, and uphold standards for the Culture at Living School

Restorative Practices & Discipline

  • Coordinate proactive restorative circles and restorative responses to harm
  • Serve as part of the school’s Crisis Response Team
  • Coach & coordinate training students, staff, and families in restorative practices
  • Monitor and coordinate reporting of culture data---(attendance, powerschool, incidents & outcomes)
  • Manage interactions with the NOLA-PS Student Hearing Office

Student Activities, School Rituals, Traditions, & Celebrations

  • Spearhead student activities including after-school, athletics, student clubs, and enrichment programming
  • Co-Organize Student Orientation, Whole School gatherings, and other expeditions----
  • Advise the Student Council & coordinate leadership & civic development opportunities --
  • Manage proactive and positive staff-family communication ---
  • Spearhead initiatives to celebrate and recognize community members & cultures (like Harambee, Awards Ceremonies)

Multi-Tiered System of Support & Student Support Team Coordinator

  • Maintain and monitor a standardized student concern referral form to be used by staff
  • Regularly convene and manage Student Support Teams to establish and monitor interventions for students in need
  • Manage Functional Behavior Assessment & Behavior Intervention Plan processes
  • Steward Restorative Academic Approaches to ensure students are getting on-time interventions to help them earn credits in all classes
  • Holistic care coordinator (including crisis planning, transportation planning, attendance interventions)

Self-Actualized Adult Leadership

  • Pursue your best self including nutrition, rest, exercise, communication, & healthy relationships
  • Build positive relationships with all stakeholders in celebration of their complete identity
  • Be an active participant in the democratic management of the school through the Staff Council
  • Be an active participant in restorative practices including circles & conferences
  • Be an active citizen in the broader community, participating in causes & organizations you value
  • Steward our mission & graduate outcomes, exceeding the basic expectations of your role
