Job Description
Laitram Machinery, Inc. has a position available for a Material Handler. This individual will be a key player in maintaining the accuracy of inventory and communicating with Materials Management Supervisor.
For over 70 years, Laitram Machinery has pioneered the manufacturing of high-performance shrimp-peeling equipment, and more recently, steam cookers, blanchers, nut pasteurizers, roasters, and sorters. Responsibilities:
- Stage parts for equipment builds prior to start
- Maintain inventory accuracy and organization
- Transfer incoming stock to storage locations
- Perform all necessary transactions w/ Inventory Management Software
- Pull parts for customer orders, ensuring order completion
- Maintain floor stock of production hardware
- Perform all necessary housecleaning duties to maintain a clean work environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Able to work overtime and weekends when needed
- Capable of passing Laitram Forklift Training certification
- Capable of becoming proficient with software we use (MAPICS, Sharepoint, etc.)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Self-managed
- Team Player
- Attention to detail
- Ability to recognize when you are falling behind, and adjust work speed to get back ahead
- Great organization skills
- Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Warehouse and/or Manufacturing Environments
- Experience in Receiving and Shipping a plus
- Worked with manufacturing software and MS Office
