Montessori Summer Camp Teacher

Moving Grace Montessori School seeks an individual passionate about teaching in the early childhood setting. The candidate should enjoy playing alongside the children, leading games, reading stories, and singing songs. Our ideal candidate will work cooperatively with their co-teachers in implementing and adding to our summer camp curriculum. This position will be focused on meeting the needs of the early childhood students socially and emotionally, as well as assisting in managing our classroom to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all. Strong classroom management skills and familiarity with positive discipline and cognitive discipline are preferred. Familiarity with the Montessori method is preferred. Training and professional development will be provided. 

This position can potentially become a full-time position for the school year. 

We have two positions available

Monday-Friday 8 am-3 pm

Monday-Friday 3 pm-6 pm

We will be closed on July 3rd and 4th. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in classroom management
• Supervise students during outdoor play
• Maintain supervision and guidance of students throughout the day
• Supervise students during lunch and naptime
• Be familiar or familiarize themselves with Montessori philosophy, positive discipline, and developmentally appropriate behaviors.
• Assist in creating a peaceful, accepting, kind, and tolerant school community
• Assist in maintaining school cleanliness, including cleaning classrooms, kitchen, and bathrooms
• Complete paperwork as needed (behavior reports, injury reports, visitor logs)
• Be kind and courteous
• Facilitate carpool
• Attending staff and professional development meetings
• Assist in creating a prepared environment for learning
• Must pass back round check and federal fingerprint check
• Must participate in online video training
• Experience working with children required

Salary:

$ 15-19 hourly, depending on experience

Must be able to start by June 1st.
