Job Summary

The Employment Manager is a rewarding role in UNO's Career Development Department.  Duties include:

·      Develop relationships with employers and collaborate to facilitate full-time and part-time jobs and internships for UNO students.

·      Advise and guide undergraduate and graduate students about work opportunities including internships, co-ops, part-time jobs, and volunteering. 

·      Collaborate with UNO faculty and employers to place students in jobs, internships, and co-op positions. 

·      Assist students with resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies.

·      Plan and organize on-campus recruitment, coordinate job fair activities, and produce promotional materials.

·      Develop training materials and teache experiential employment workshops, classes, and special programs regarding work experience opportunities (such as resume preparation, interview skills, business etiquette and communication, soft skills development, networking, career fair orientations, workplace values, job search strategies, etc.).

·      Maintain a current database of all employers and job listings.

·      Assist with maintaining the Career Services website.

·      Manage departmental marketing and social media efforts.

·      Assist UNO alumni with resume writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies, networking, social media, and career guidance.

·      Co-manage career fairs of over 200 organizations, twice per year. 

·      Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion activities.  Understands the specific experiences of historically marginalized racial groups in the U.S., particularly Black, Indigenous, Asian, and Latine groups. 

 

Required Qualifications

·      ​​Bachelor's degree in Business, Education or a related field.

·      One year of work experience in a university career services position or a related position with a human resources, recruitment, or career preparation focus. 

·      One year of work-related experience managing social media platforms and creating posts. 

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

·      Experience with creative workshop presentations. 

·      Experience with information technology database management. 

 

Annual Salary

Lower to mid $40s.
