LFNO is seeking an Middle school English teacher to share our mission of academic excellence, to empower students to

Responsibilities
The Middle school English teacher will deliver engaging lessons that follow rigorous, standards-aligned English
curriculum and support elements of the LA history curriculum in collaboration with the Social Studies instructor.

Requirements
- Qualifications
Preferred:
Experience teaching in urban or multicultural areas
Louisiana teaching certification
Master’s Degree in related field
Knowledge or interest in French language and culture - Bachelor's degree (if not certified, agrees to work towards certification)
- The ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, engaged, and academically challenged.
- Teaching experience in English and/or social studies.
- Passion for teaching students in underserved areas and commitment to closing the “opportunity” gap.
- Strong collaboration, self-awareness, and teamwork skills.
- Desire to set and achieve goals, and work to improve systems as part of a “growing” school.
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback and data to improve practice.

About Lycee Francais de la Nouvelle Orleans
Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans is the free French immersion public charter school serving all of Louisiana. We are a type-2 charter school and French immersion program located in New Orleans. Lycée Français follows the French national curriculum and also adheres to aspects of the Louisiana state curriculum. We are accredited by the French Ministry of Education for French curriculum through grade 6 and are continuously working towards accreditation for upper levels; accreditation is ongoing. For the 2020 – 2021 school year, Lycée Français serves Pre-K4 through 10th grade; a new grade level will be added every year up to 12th grade.
